It has been BROS’ core principle since its initial establishment to think ahead and be creative in promoting safe and trendy lifestyle.  BROS has been actively appearing in the public to persuade more users to reduce the ordinary polyethylene terephthalate (PET) container as used in conventional mineral water bottles.

With BROS drinking bottles, there will be lesser chemical intake and fewer unrecyclable substances.  Therefore BROS reassures a better health in smart and yet fashionable way.

Dreams Really Do Come True -
The World Vision Experience

January 18, 2010

As Winston Churchill said, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
Sharing the same vision with World VIsion, at BROS, we too believe that by sharing a slice of our daily bread with the less fortunate children, we are also sharing hope, dreams and future with them. We are honored to be a corporate partner of World Vision, being a part of the serving community, joining hands to create a life worth living.

WV2

KUALA LUMPUR, 9 January – “And the dreams that we dare to dream really do come true…” so sang Dorothy Gale in the Wizard of Oz. Living out the reality of Dorothy’s song are Ornanong Panyawong Awakul from Thailand and Richard Supat of The Philippines, two former sponsored children under World Vision’s Child Sponsorship Programme.

Ornanong’s life was changed when she joined the World Vision Child Sponsorship Programme. From having to drop out of school to support her large family, she went on to complete her education, obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts from Chulalongkorn University, and was crowned Miss Thailand 1992. Today, she is a well known actress, TV host and a spokesperson for World Vision Foundation of Thailand.

World Vision is an international humanitarian organisation. Through its International Child Sponsorship Programme, World Vision offers those who can give the opportunity to improve the lives of children in need by sharing resources, hope and experiences in overcoming poverty. Through the programme, those who are interested sign up as child sponsors and contribute to the community's goal of improving life for the sponsored children.

Sponsors’ contributions help deliver health and educational improvements and support vital development in the communities where the sponsored children live.

The success of World Vision’s community-based transformational approach is best captured in the changed lives of the sponsored children under the programme, particularly the lives of former sponsored children like Ornanong and Supat.

For Richard Supat, being a sponsored child, enabled him to continue with, and eventually finished his formal education, an accomplishment given his family’s dire financial situation. Supat graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications and went on to obtain a Masters of Business Administration from the De La Salle Professional Schools, Inc., one of the leading universities in the Philippines. Today he heads the Human Resource Division of a Filipino services company.

To highlight the tangible and positive changes that the World Vision Child Sponsorship Programme have made to the lives of thousands of impoverished children regionally and internationally, World Vision Malaysia invited Ornanong and Supat to speak at its „This is My World Vision‟ campaign it launched today.

“This is My World Vision” is a Campaign aimed at bridging global communities by highlighting humanity’s shared aspirations, shared dreams, and shared future. It seeks to bring home the message that, as global citizens, we each have the power to change lives for the better for our fellow beings regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, cultural difference and status.

Through the Campaign, World Vision Malaysia challenges Malaysians from all walks of life to step up and be counted; to the awareness that our lives are interconnected regardless where we may be and that, in lending others a helping hand, we are also building a better future for ourselves.

The “This is My World Vision” Campaign focuses on some of the basic issues affecting children in the poor communities -- education, healthcare, lack of clean water & nutritious food and economic development. It provides Malaysians with a behind-the-scene look into how child sponsorship works.

The Campaign also seeks to highlight the fact that it is not the amount that matters but the desire for change and the willingness to act on it that will bring about lasting transformation.

“At World Vision, we believe that every being, every child is precious and, if given the right tools, they can attain the fullness of life as is their fundamental right. Malaysians have done much to give thousands of children, their families and communities the hand up. This Campaign is our way of demonstrating to our supporters and sponsors, that their trust in us has bore and is bearing fruit,” said Liew Tong Ngan, CEO of World Vision Malaysia.

BROS & Waterfall Survivors
Joins Global Day Of Climate Action To Spread Most Important Number In The World

November 06, 2009

Rawang, October 25th—BROS & Waterfall Survivors joined tenth of thousands global communities from over 150 countries in a symbolic Save Our Waterfalls (SOW) Campaign at Kanching Waterfalls, Rawang.   The objectives of the event are to clean up the waterfall and to support 350.org in this global day of climate action.

Held simultaneously with over 2,000 events around the globe, the event was a part of a Global Day of Actions coordinated by 350.org to urge world leaders to take bold and immediate steps to address climate change and reduce carbon emissions.

With the support from Tourism Selangor, this auspicious campaign is officiated by YB Edward Lee Poh Lin, Assistant Exco Tourism, Environmental and Public Affairs of Selangor State Government.

“We in Tourism Selangor will give our full commitment to support this program as well as other program that shares the same objective in saving our environment. This is also important for Tourism Selangor as it can play a pivotal role in promoting and bringing forward the eco-tourism in Selangor” said YB Edward Lee during the opening address.

The auspicious event was endorsed and supported by the Selangor State Government, Tourism Selangor, Majlis Perbandaran Selayang and Jabatan Pertahanan Awam Malaysia, Selangor.

Waterfall Survivors members, total of 400 members have collected almost 500 bags of rubbish from the waterfalls during that day. All these rubbish are left by the irresponsible picnickers and campers.

Around the world today – from capitol cities to the melting slopes of Mount Everest, even underwater on dying coral reefs – communities held rallies aimed at focusing attention on the number 350.  In recent years, scientists have insisted that 350 parts per million is the most carbon dioxide we can safely have in the atmosphere. The current CO2 concentration is 390 parts per million

“People have said the science of global warming is too confusing for average citizens to understand but yesterday’s events proved that millions of people understood exactly what is at stake in the next few years, and that they wanted swift action to safeguard the future,” says 350.org founder Bill McKibben in a Press Statement posted in the organization’s official website http://www.350.org

ABOUT 350.ORG

Founded by author and environmentalist Bill McKibben, 350.org is the first large-scale grassroots global campaign against climate change. Its supporters include leading scientists, governments of 92 countries, and a huge variety of environmental, health, development and religious NGOs.

All agree that current atmospheric levels of CO2—390 parts per million—are causing damage to the planet and to its most vulnerable people, and that government action at the Copenhagen climate conference is required to bring the earth’s carbon level swiftly down to 350 ppm.

“That’s why glaciers and sea ice are melting, drought is spreading, and flooding is on the increase.  Thus why we need a huge worldwide movement to give us the momentum to make real political change. Our leaders have heard from major corporations and big polluters for a long time.  Today, finally, they heard from citizens and scientists,” says McKibben.

350.org – a global alliance of faith groups, NGOs, trade unions and over a million individuals calling for a fair, ambitious, and binding international climate change treaty.

To Whom It May Concern,

Re: The Safety Concern Over Polycarbonate Material From The Public

First of all thanks for your support on BROS bottle. We understand that there is a concern for the safety issue of polycarbonate material made items due to the bombardment in the media from the statement made by the Consumer Association of Penang yesterday.

BROS is made of poly-carbonate which belongs to classification of "7". "7" is just a classification of recyclable plastic material, where PET (mineral water bottle) is "1". The numbering classification indicates the different characteristic of each material and it does not specify "1" is the worst and "7" is the best.

In order to provide our customer an ease of mind using BROS bottles, we would like to emphasize that all BROS bottles are made of food grade Virgin Polycarbonate raw material which imported from Japan (We DO NOT use China-Made Polycarbonate raw material nor Recycled material for the production of BROS bottles). BROS bottles fully comply with U.S. FDA standard and requirement.

As a responsible manufacturer of polycarbonate consumer products, Living Wing Sdn Bhd has monitored scientific research concerning the safety of our products including Bisphenol-A for many years.

Based on the findings of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), The Environmental Protection Agency, The European Food Safety Authority, The German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, The Japan Ministry of Health, Labor & Welfare, The American Plastics Council, The Singapore Agri-Food & Veterinary and other reliable sources from around the world, we continue to firmly believe in the safety of our products containing BPA.

We also believe in providing our customers with the most factual information currently available on this subject. You can view the most up to date information here:

You may find a statement made by both Malaysian Plastics Manufacturers Association (MPMA) and Ministry of Health which clarify the safety of polycarbonate:
