Leading bottle specialist BROS Introduces 09/10 Designer Water Bottle Collection New Line of BPA-free Lifestyle Bottles

Petaling Jaya, September 9, 2009 - Hydration is a buzz word in beauty and in good health, but getting enough to drink daily boils down to accessibility, too. Which is why the BROS 09/10 designer water bottle collection is a must have for anyone and everyone.

As the leading water bottle specialist in Malaysia, BROS has been championing the use of reusable beverage containers to help people get hydrated and to reduce environmental waste in the form of disposable polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles since the brand was established in 2004.

The brand‘s has chalked up another first with the inroduction of the first made in Malaysia Bisphenol-A (BPA)-free reusable water bottle under its MATTE range. Other ranges in the 2009/10 collection are the stainless steel STEELART, and classic polycarbonate clear CRYSTAL.

Wholly developed and distributed by Living Wing Sdn Bhd, the BROS MATTE and STEELART water bottles comply with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations of the United States of America and are LFGB certified by TUV Group of Germany.

In total there are more than 71 designs to choose from across the three collections giving people of all ages more reason to say "no" to disposable bottles, and "yes" to a healthier, more environmentally conscious lifestyle. The theme for the BROS 09/10 collection is "Towards a Healthier Lifestyle, by Design".

According to Mr. Terence Lee, Business Development Director of Living Wing Sdn Bhd, BROS aims to get more people to switch to reusable, refillable water bottles by making fashion-forward and easy to carry bottles, so that users can bring their environmental credentials with them everywhere, making a statement that they are taking action to reduce waste.

Globally over 60 bilion tons of plastic waste is produced every year. Plastic is especially damaging because it is not biodegradable and plastic particles eventually become part of the food chain, causing harm eventually to other animals, including humans.

"BROS, is about health as we promote the habit of drinking enough water which is essential for good hydration and a healthy metabolic system especially in our tropical weather. We do this by making water bottles from safer, higher quality raw materials, under close supervision for a superior quality product, topping it off with exciting designs that people can carry with them proudly." Mr. Lee said.

He explained that BROS‘ introduction of BPA-free bottles in plastic and stainless steel was in response to some consumers‘ concerns on the safety of regular poly carbonate bottles. What we have done is to introduce a BPA-free range as an option so that consumers have a choice and can decide for themselves." said Mr. Lee

In conjuction with the launch and as part of its BROS Care corporate social responsibility programme, BROS will be making charitable contribution to World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Malaysia for environmental awareness related to the NGO‘s turtle conservation programme and to World Vison Malaysia for sustainable community development.

"As part of our community care programmes, BROS wanted to highlight the plight of endangered turtles in Malaysia and also to support World Vision Malaysia in raising funds for underprivileged communities." Mr. Lee explained.

BROS donated RM8,000 to World Vision Malaysia, while WWF Malaysia received RM10,000 from the brand.

BROS CRYSTAL poly carbonate water bottles are a popular choice due to the clear plastic which shows designs to great effect when the bottle is filled with liquid. Affordable and colourful, the 2009/10 collection is inspired by elements of urban life including sports and nature.

BROS MATTE Bisphenol-A-free plastic water bottles are opaque with high stain and chemical resistance. The opacity of the material coupled with the colour combinations and graphics inspired designs give the bottles a fashionable 70‘s retro vibe.
